Wild West frontier town it might no longer be, but in Dodge City, the former home of the Earps and Mastersons, there are plenty of associated sights to see so long as you check your gun at the door.
This lake is rather shallow compared to many of its other freshwater cousins and its water levels can fluctuate. But when deep enough, it's a rather quiet and intimate alternative for boaters and fishers. Just check the water levels ahead of time because, sometimes, the boat ramps are unusable.
