Description

Wilson Lake is set amongst the Smoky Hills, which is a rolling landscape of hills, buttes and hazy valleys. Also known as Post Rock Country, the area contains thousands of miles of stone fenceposts and buildings that have been constructed of limestone rock. The lake offers a diversity of recreational opportunities which include picnicking, camping, swimming, boating, skiing, wind surfing, sailing, scuba-diving, fishing, hunting, trail hiking, mountain bike trail riding, and remote controlled model sailplane racing to name a few. The grassland drainage basin of 1,917 square miles filters sediments making Wilson Lake "The Clearest Lake in Kansas." The lake houses 9,000 acres of water with 100 miles of shoreline.
