Kansas City is 155 miles north of Joplin and 135 miles west of Columbia. It is accessible via Interstate Highways 29, 35 and 70 and U.S. Highways 24, 71 and 169. The Kansas City area has an extensive Highway system that allows easy access to most areas of the city with little effort and also keeps traffic to a minimum. Car rentals are plentiful in the city and can be found at the airports and many other locations within the city.
